Special

During September 2009, I gave a one-and-a-half hour presentation entitled Developmental Vision and the Visual Process are the Only Solutions for Children's Learning Problems.

The occasion was the Greater Global Gathering, a four-day seminar, held at the Brown Palace, Denver Colorado.  It was sponsored by the Triple 9 society, an organization I have been a member of since 1979.

The presentation was well received.  An oddity about the event was that there were no other optometrists present.

During the question-answer period at the end, one of the people in the audience commented, "Every teacher in the country should hear this presentation."

Here is a shortened version of that presentation.

The Problem

In over 30 years of working with children having learning problems, one-on-one, this is the only single visual concepts and visual ability EVERY child had a problem with... visualizing words accurately.  EVERY child.

This visual ability is obviously necessary for spelling, it is also vital for learning to read and to write.

The Solution

At this first session, both parents are present.  I want them to see why their child has learning problems... and also that he can learn.

I will use "he" and "him"... it could mean "she" and "her".
